August 19, 2008

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado First production front wheel drive since the Cord Oldsmobile rocked the automotive world when it first introduced the Toronado in 1966, as Motor Treads car of the year. Oldsmobile spent 7 years in the development and refinement of this unique front-wheel drive vehicle. It is classified as a full-size luxury car and it is powered by a 425cu.in Super Rocket V8 rated at 385hp and 475ft-tq and a 3speed automatic transmission. It features an unusual barrel-style speedometer which rolls to display speed.

This is my 1966 Toronado that I am almost finished restoring. It is a California car, complete with it’s original black plates. It is finished in a clor close to its original, silver. However, mine is a 2006 Mercedes Benz Iridium Silver with black interior. Other equipment includes power steering, power brakes, power windows, power antenna and more.

This car has a rebuilt motor, bored .30 over and runs like a drean. If is located in Ojai, California, and will be available for sale late summer of 2008.  This automible has been completely gone through, and is for the owner who wants the finest example available. This is a great opportunity to owner a powerful and collectable, full size luxury car, which shows and drives like new.
